VoIP (Digital Voice) and Wireless Security systems.

June 29th, 2009

CU2000_hresMany people don’t even know what VoIP is. VoIP is digital home phone service that cuts the cost of home phone service by up to 50%. Now that copper phone lines and regular phone lines are going away and everything is going digital we need to remember that a trend is forming. Why will this happen and how can it happen. Just as Television went digital the past few weeks, so will telephone service. The Digital Telephone adapter contains your phone number, and all calling features that the regular phone lines currently posses. What can Digital home phone service do for you? When you think about the savings over the next year it will dramatically show you how much money you can be saving over the year. If you are currently paying over $60 for home phone service then your most likely to pay about $720.00 per year and that’s being nice when assuming you pay about $60 per month. Now with Digital home phone service (VoIP) you would be paying about lets say about $30 per month you are looking at a bill of about $320.00. That’s a assumed savings of over 50% and a yearly savings of $360.00. If you calculate that up over the years you most likely would have been able to pay for a vehicle over the years of squandering that type of money.

ind_package_silverNow, that you understand Digital Voice, its time to see what’s going to happen with your home security system right? Remember most home/commercial security companies only allow regular phone lines for monitoring and communications with their central security systems. So why would I want to be secured by a land line again? Don’t most people know if you want to get rid of a home security system all you have to do it cut the phone line? So how can I really feel secure? Once the phone line is cut, then how will they communicate with me? Well now its time to introduce a Wireless home security system. This system will afford you the comfort in knowing that your security system phone lines can’t be cut.. Why? Because you don’t have phone lines period. Its wireless, and there is nothing the intruder can do about it. Let me see them try to cut a wireless signal? Not only that, it also allows for quicker transmission via the internet and more reliability from your home security system. I think I would like to be assured of at least some sort of signal being sent to my provider than none at all. Also, the wireless security system from Protect America, (the 3rd largest home security provider) in America has a talking security base. I’m always fond of hearing “Front Door Open, or Back door Open, or Garage door breached” now it allows me to know where to run from and where not to go. Remember the old security system just beeped, and that is not enough information to tell me where I need to run!

The advantages of VoIP and wireless security definitely pay off in the long run. It not only saves you money and gives you a sense of security, but it also gives you the opportunity to decide how you want to secure your family. If you want do a half way job using land line security, then go right ahead, but I will make sure that I will secure my family with VoIP (Digital home phone service) and Wireless home security.

YMax majicJack (Winter 2009)

April 20th, 2009

Ok, so I’ve been also hearing allot about the Majic Jack and what it can do for you. Me personally, I don’t like the Magic Jack because they claim it to be so user friendly but its not. Read this paragraph from the review that I am going to post and let me know if this sounds simple to you.

Since we last reviewed the magicJack, little has changed in the installation. YMax has updated the hardware and software, but, overall, the product works as it did before. You plug the magicJack into a USB port on a Mac or Windows PC that has high-speed Internet access. Then you plug a standard phone into the magicJack. Next, you do a downloaded, install the management software, and register. After that, the installer asks for an e-mail address, sends a confirmation message, and has you pick a phone number. The list of numbers consists of numbers that YMax bought for its use. If you like, you can also port your existing phone number to the magicJack. The entire installation takes just a few minutes.

To me that does not seem to be so easy of an installation. Go tell your grandmother or someone that is really not computer savvy to install the Majic Jack. Many people were getting caught up on the cost factor, but from what I hear the customer service/ Technical Support is HORRIBLE and you won’t get your problems fixed. Also, the performance of the device is reliant on your home or laptop PC. So if your PC is not up to standard like a PC that I have that I only use for storage, you will be in trouble. Remember you get what you pay for. And that’s not good. But its up to the individual, all I’m going to say is Buyer beware.

Well, here is the review I saw check it out
